Terms of Service

Effective date: October 17, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Frez mobile app, the website at www.frez.app, and related software services (together, the "Service"). Frez is operated by HOLD TIGHT (홀드타이트), a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea (Business Registration No. 414-04-55774) ("HOLD TIGHT", "we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 14 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to the processing of your personal data, if higher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service and make purchases only with the consent of your parent or legal guardian.

2. Your Frez account

  • You sign in to Frez with a supported third-party account, such as Google or Apple. Your Frez account and any subscription are linked to that sign-in.
  • Provide accurate information and keep access to your sign-in account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the in-app settings or by contacting us. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play; cancel that through the store.

3. The Service and Frez Pro

Frez is training-tool software for isometric strength training. It lets you measure force with compatible devices, run timed training sessions and programs, log your results, and review analytics about your training.

Some features are free. Frez Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional software features, as described on our pricing page and in the app. Frez Pro is a digital software subscription only: it does not include physical goods, personal coaching, or medical, physiotherapy, or rehabilitation services.

We continuously improve the Service and may add, change, or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces the core Frez Pro features you have paid for, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible, and you may cancel and, where required by law or our Refund Policy, receive a refund.

4. Subscriptions and billing

4.1 Web purchases (Paddle)

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

When you buy Frez Pro on our website, you buy it from Paddle, and Paddle's Buyer Terms also apply to the purchase. You can still contact us at any time at [email protected] and we will help.

  • Prices and taxes. Prices on our website are shown in US dollars and exclude taxes. Applicable sales tax, VAT, or similar taxes for your location are calculated and added at checkout, and the total is shown before you pay.
  • Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) and are charged to your payment method at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • Free trials. If a plan includes a free trial, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
  • Price changes. If we change the price of your subscription, we will notify you at least 30 days before the new price applies. The new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period. If you do not agree, you can cancel before that renewal.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account page or through the Paddle customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Frez Pro access until then.
  • Refunds. Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

4.2 In-app purchases (Apple and Google)

If you subscribe inside the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the purchase is made from Apple or Google and is governed by their terms and policies, including for billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds. Manage or cancel these subscriptions in your store account settings.

4.3 Hardware

Frez Dyno and other hardware are sold separately as physical products. They are governed by the terms, warranty, and return policy of the store where you buy them, not by these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, sell, resell, rent, or commercially exploit the Service, except as we expressly allow;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent permitted by law;
  • interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or its security, or access it through automated means we have not authorized;
  • use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or offensive;
  • share your account or Frez Pro access with others, or circumvent payment or access controls.

If you use the Frez Developer Program or the Personal Dyno API, the Developer Agreement presented when you join also applies.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including the software, design, training programs, text, graphics, and the Frez name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

7. Your content and training data

You keep ownership of the content you create or upload, such as training records, notes, and profile media ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display Your Content only as needed to operate, provide, and improve the Service for you. We may use aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you to improve the Service. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights to upload it.

8. Health and safety

Frez supports strength training, which involves physical exertion and a risk of injury.

  • Frez does not provide medical advice. Content and measurements in the Service are for general fitness and informational purposes only and are not a diagnosis or treatment.
  • Consult a physician or qualified professional before starting a training program, especially if you have an injury, a medical condition, are pregnant, or have not trained recently.
  • Warm up, train within your limits, and stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort.
  • Use any device, strap, or mounting setup according to its instructions and check it for damage before each use.

9. Third-party devices and services

The Service can work with third-party hardware, platforms, and services (for example, sign-in providers, app stores, health platforms, and measuring devices). Your use of them is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party products or services, and we do not guarantee that every device or integration will be compatible or remain available.

10. Disclaimers

We work to keep the Service reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that measurements will be perfectly accurate. To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". This does not affect any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the issue first. If we terminate a paid subscription without cause, or discontinue the Service, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription period.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) continue to apply.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence where the law allows. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the effective date. For changes that materially affect your rights, we will notify you at least 7 days in advance (at least 30 days in advance for changes unfavorable to you) through the app, the website, or by email. If you do not agree to the changes, you can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription before they take effect.
